Project Overview

Scarlet Security Group (SSRG) is a trusted leader in customized security solutions, specializing in meeting the unique demands of Canada’s mining and resource sectors, municipalities, and remote industrial environments. Since its inception in 2010, SSRG has built its reputation on integrity, meaningful partnerships with First Nations communities, and a commitment to delivering tailored security excellence.

I was tasked with designing the logo, brand guidelines, car wrap, and stationery to establish a strong and professional visual identity for SSRG. The goal was to reflect the company’s expertise, integrity, and commitment to community partnerships while ensuring a cohesive and impactful presence across all touchpoints.

Design Solutions

Logo Design:
The SSRG logo captures the essence of strength, trust, and professionalism while honoring its roots in the Northern Canadian and Aboriginal communities.

  • Symbolism: The logo icon symbolizes protection, reliability, and security. A circle is located in the center being protected by other

  • Typography: A modern sans-serif typeface was selected to convey professionalism and approachability, aligning with SSRG’s reputation for integrity and trust.

  • Color Palette: The deep red signifies strength, resilience, and the Scarlet name, while the dark purple and blue tones provide balance and a sense of dependability/reliability.

Brand Guidelines:
The brand guidelines were created to ensure a unified and professional representation of SSRG across all mediums and communication channels.

  • Logo Usage: Clear specifications for logo placement, scaling, and color variations to maintain consistency and visibility.

  • Color Palette: A refined palette of red, dark purple and blue is chosen for its boldness and alignment with SSRG’s brand values.

  • Typography System: A clean, contemporary sans serif typeface system that ensures readability and professionalism.

  • Visual Elements: Incorporation of chain-like patterns and angular shapes to reflect SSRG’s commitment to protection and security, with imagery that emphasizes its Northern roots and industrial expertise.

Stationery Design:
The stationery was designed to leave a lasting impression of professionalism and trust while maintaining a consistent brand identity.

  • Business Cards: Clean and minimalistic, with the use of the gradient and the chain motif subtly embossed for a premium feel.

  • Letterhead and Envelopes: Elegant yet functional designs with consistent use of branding elements, ensuring professionalism in every interaction.

  • Notecards: A branded yet approachable design, perfect for both formal and informal correspondence.

Results

The redesigned Scarlet Security Group brand successfully communicates its leadership in the security sector, rooted in integrity, trust, and community. The cohesive visual identity elevates the company’s presence while reinforcing its core values.

What I Loved About This Project

Working on SSRG’s brand was an incredible opportunity to design for a company with such a meaningful mission. I especially appreciated the challenge of balancing the strength and professionalism of the security industry with the warmth and respect required to honor SSRG’s partnerships with First Nations communities. This project allowed me to create a brand that’s not only visually impactful but also deeply aligned with SSRG’s values and legacy.
